CSAT (Suneung) Physics I

Focused practice in the style of Korea’s CSAT Physics I across its three units: mechanics and energy, matter and electromagnetic fields, and waves and communication. Semiconductors and magnetic materials are not included.

25 skills · g = 10 m/s²

Conventions

  • The path follows the three units of Physics I. It is focused practice, not a complete mock paper.
  • Not included: energy bands, semiconductors and diodes, and the magnetic properties of materials. Matter waves are drilled as calculations; the electron microscope is not.
  • General problems ask for a number, often where the paper would ask for a ratio or a statement judgment. The exam-style items carry the paper’s form.
  • Problems use g = 10 m/s².
  • The CSAT on 19 November 2026 (the 2027 CSAT) is the last with Physics I. From the 2028 CSAT, science is examined as Integrated Science, which has its own path.
  • Physics Zen is independent exam-style practice, not official exam material, and is not affiliated with the Korea Institute of Curriculum and Evaluation (KICE).

Units on this path

Ⅰ Mechanics and energy

  • Uniform Motion: Relate distance, speed, and time at constant velocity, and convert km/h to m/s
  • Uniform Acceleration: Use the constant-acceleration equations and read velocity-time graphs
  • Free Fall: Drop and throw objects under gravity: fall time, impact speed, maximum height
  • Newton's Laws: Apply F = ma, add forces along a line, and tell mass from weight
  • Work: Find the work a force does, at an angle to the motion and against friction
  • Kinetic & Potential Energy: Compute kinetic and gravitational potential energy, and work back to speed or height
  • Conservation of Energy: Trade height for speed on a frictionless path, and account for what friction takes
  • Momentum & Impulse: Find momentum and impulse, and the average force behind a change of motion
  • Conservation of Momentum: Apply momentum conservation to collisions that stick together and to recoil
  • Elastic Collisions: Handle collisions that also conserve kinetic energy, starting with equal masses
  • First Law: Track internal energy against the heat added and the work a gas does
  • Engines & Efficiency: Find the efficiency of a heat engine and the Carnot limit on it
  • Mass-Energy: Convert a mass defect into energy and find the binding energy per nucleon
  • Time Dilation & Length Contraction: Decide which observer measures the proper time or length, and find the energy of a fast particle

Ⅱ Matter and electromagnetic fields

Ⅲ Waves and communication

  • Wave Speed & Frequency: Link speed, frequency and wavelength, and find the speed of a wave on a string
  • Wave Graphs & Interference: Read wave graphs against position and time, use the sine-wave equation, and find where two sources reinforce or cancel
  • Electromagnetic Spectrum: Turn wavelength into frequency for light and radio, place a wave in its band, and send light through polarisers
  • Reflection & Refraction: Apply Snell's law, find the critical angle and the speed of light in a medium
  • Photons & Photoelectric Effect: Get a photon's energy from its wavelength and the electrons it can knock loose
  • Matter Waves & X-rays: Find the de Broglie wavelength of a particle, the cutoff of an X-ray tube and the spacing from a Bragg reflection

How Physics Zen helps

The path drills 25 skills across the three Physics I units, from constant acceleration, momentum and heat engines to Coulomb’s law, magnetic fields of currents, induction, wave graphs, the photoelectric effect, matter waves and special relativity. Exam-style items use five options, and some offer a 보기 part where you judge three statements ㄱ, ㄴ, ㄷ. Generated values, instant checking and worked solutions apply throughout.
